Super busy day!

Red was able to finally meet my midwife!!!! Which is fricken awesome! HE likes her as much as I do! She made him feel included in the appointment, which is awesome! HE doesn’t often get the day off so it was really nice to get the day together!

Today was the first day back to school for the kids and me! Which means that the day was really busy! We got the kids woken up and sent off to school and then started our day. We went for a walk which is awesome most the time I am alone when I go for my morning walk but it was really nice to go with my hubby. We talked about all the things going on… We got home I changed out of my sweaty gross clothes and we left for the Midwife…

Everything is looking really good. She said everything is looking great and baby is and me are growing beautifully… she was really sweet and included Red in listening to the heart beat… she felt around and said baby boy is head down… I know he can still flip but it is less likely at this point so hopefully he will remain head down for delivery!

Then Red took me out to lunch at this little Mexican restaurant which is one of the first places we ever went on a date too… It was really sweet and super tasty!!!

Once we got home things became super busy! I started on my class and looked into what it’s going to detail and how crazy busy the weeks will be. I even got an assignment done and turned in… Tomorrow will be just as busy… I will have 2 quizzes and 5 chapters to read this week!

I made dinner and Red did a ton of stuff… It was crazy… the kids got home and we had them do their chores and fold their clothing… then go play!

My MIL that lives with us because of her handicap just got home yesterday after a few days in the hospital and she had a ton of stuff for Red to do… including 7 weeks of medicines that he has to give her 2x daily through a picline in her arm… she needed him to do a ton of stuff which he got done… He also rearranged the room to get the changing table into where we want for when baby comes… and he vacuumed the room! He spoiled me but I feel bad like he is taking on too much… he feels like he doesn’t really have a choice right now between a MIL who is handicap and in need of medical assistance multiple times a day and a pregnant wife who is only getting bigger by the day… but I still worry and wish I could do more around the house like mowing the lawn….

Over the weekend we did a family photo shoot and a maternity photo shoot! It was really fun and I can’t wait to see how the pictures came out! So this weekend has been crazy busy!

I just started my 33 week of pregnancy but I feel like I’m growing like crazy every day!!!!

Thinking back on the last 13 years of my life…

Today I was talking to my nephew about his first week back at school… HE informed me that he is now in the 4th grade! I can’t believe how fast time has gone by… I remember when his mom told me she was pregnant… I remember the day he was born and holding my sisters while she got her epidural… I remember when she moved away and he was about 3 years old… it makes me sad that he is growing up with out me…

That makes me look at my boys and how we got to where we are today… 13 years ago I moved into my neighborhood and this silly little 5 year old kept showing up in my yard because I had cool rocks and he wanted to play with my cats that were hanging out in the front yard… I was still in high school but I became friends with this 5 year old because he gave me no choice and showed up everyday… We talked about rocks and I told him my dad is a rock scientist after that every day he showed up with a rock to ask me what kind and if I didn’t know I would show my dad and tell him all about it…

His dad heard about his adventures to the girl that has cats and knows about rocks and came over to meet me and make sure his son wasn’t bothering us and was safe around us… a few weeks later I met a boy about my age who turned out to be the 5 year olds adopted older brother… and we became friends… he started taking me over to his house to hang out when he was in town and I quickly became friends with the people 6 houses down from me… I started babysitting the 5 year old… His dad and his dads girlfriend had a difficult relationship but she was pregnant and he wanted to take care of the baby and tried very hard to make it work… eventually they broke up and the dad became a single full time dad to 2 boys… He was doing a good job but he needed help on the days that he was at work and so I helped him out… by this point we had become best friends despite all the craziness that happened in our lives…

The 5 year old was now 10 the baby was about 4 and my parents were now divorced and my mom left me to take care of a house by myself… I couldn’t handle it and all the bills were so far behind that I couldn’t even try to keep the house my mom lost the house and left me with the bills…Now it was my turn to need help and the boys dad my best friend offered me his couch until I could get on my feet… 6 months later I broke my tailbone and couldn’t work for 12 weeks… my best friend took care of me and even gave up his bed so that I could be more comfortable while I healed… I began to see my bestie in a different light all the years we’d been friends and we were always there for each other… there was one person in the world I could count on and he was it… there was one person he could count on and I was it… We both decided to take a chance and began to date… for the first year we didn’t tell the kids because we were worried about the what if’s of it it didn’t work out and I loved my friendship with the boys and they needed me… but things worked out and we fell in love…

that 5 year old is going to be 18 in 2 months and brags to people about how I’m a good mom and how much he loves me… I can’t believe how and where time has gone…it amazes me that the little 5 year old that forced his way into my life is now my wonderful son that I have watched grow for so very long! Things in life have changed so much and in many ways time has flown by… I really feel like I was meant to be their mom and so even though it happened in a way I never would have imagined but I wouldn’t change a thing… life happened the way it did and because of that I have an amazing relationship with my boys that I wouldn’t trade for the world… I can’t believe that 5 year old is going to be a senior this year starting Monday!!!

 

What a day…

So today started out pretty great! The weather was good so I went for a walk around my neighborhood… came home had a nice conversation on the phone with my bestie… hoped in the shower…called my hubby while doing my make up and gathered all my stuff to get my giant to-do list finished up…

I headed off to my car to start running errands and my car wouldn’t start… grrr…dead battery… so I called my bestie again she doesn’t live to far away and it’s her day off and luckily she was free so she ran 2 errands with me so that I could get my most important errands completed… afterwards we went to lunch then went and checked out her little sisters new house…

The day ended up being pretty fun but I still have a ton of stuff I need to do tomorrow… when Red got home he went to check out my car and of course it started up immediately…Red is a handy guy who knows a lot about cars and he thinks my ignition drained my battery but me trying to start it made it shut off completely which then let the battery charge itself up and it should be good to go for my errands tomorrow…

Red also brought home pizza so that I wouldn’t have to cook tonight! Such a sweet guy which is also great because I just did dishes and didn’t really have room left for dinner dishes right now…

tomorrow I have so much planned out like finishing cleaning the kitchen since I got through the dishes and then was tired…that happens a lot now a days… I used to be able to get my whole house cleaned in 2 or 3 days everything done and shiny and clean now I get like one or 2 chores done and I’m ready for a break lol… tomorrow I will finish the kitchen…

Before I do that I will need to run the errands that I was unable to get done today because of my stupid car! I really want to get my house back to being nice and clean… it will be a lot easier once the kids are back at school and I’m not having to clean up after them all day not that I won’t have to clean up after them but I’ll be able to get a room cleaned before they have made a mess… ah the joys of having kiddos!

Well I’m off to go get the kiddos ready for bed and done for the day yay!

When the weekend ends…

This weekend was a lot of fun! We had an awesome family day on Sunday where we took the kids up to the mountains and went to an archery range and shot some arrows… (which by the way I love but is really hard to do when you have a big 32 week belly sticking out)  I have a nasty looking bruise on my arm from the bow but I had a blast and so did the boys… the cooler weather and picnic on top of it were just what we needed…

Then the next day my MIL kidnapped the boys to help her paint her bathroom and spend the night…Red ended up with the day off so we spent the day playing games and then went to dinner…we came home and there was a beautiful thunder/lightening storm going on…it was still like 70 degrees outside so we sat under the porch and watched the storm together! It was awesome! I love rain storms so it was the perfect ending to our weekend!

However, now the weekend is over and my to-do list is a mile long… stormy days make me want to just curl up with a book and a cup of tea! My house needs some serious TLC! I have a few dishes to do and start my crock pot fajitas (I’ll post a recipe down below because they are awesome and super quick and easy!) then I will have a few more dishes to do!

Laundry is getting bad I only did one kids laundry basket yesterday so I have plenty that I need to do still… I need to go through my school supply drawer and see what I have to start my kiddos off with since next Monday they go back to school! Me n Red had planned on doing some rearranging of our room on his day off but instead we ended up just spending the day enjoying each others company which was awesome but there are still things we gotta get done in the room before baby arrives… although we pretty much have everything done so I don’t feel so stressed or pressured to get it all done… I’m still nesting but now it’s more like things I know we need to do still like some meal prep for the month that little one arrives… By Sunday I have to go down to my college campus and pick up my book and drop off some paperwork for next semester… which reminds me that I need to print a few things off!

So today will be busyish but not too bad nothing ridiculous I just wanna be lazy because the weather… Ooo it felt so nice this morning I went for a walk! The weather has been too hot for me to get many walks in this summer so I am really enjoying the days that I can! I’m so excited that the weather is going to be cooling down and I can go back to my daily walks again!

I can’t believe that I am 32 weeks and 2 days along now! I feel like the end of pregnancy is getting really close now! In just a few short weeks I will finally be holding my son! I can’t wait to meet him! I can’t wait to snuggle him and be sleep deprived because I’m so busy taking care of him that I can’t think straight lol! For so long I thought this day would never happen and here we are getting closer every day!

Crock pot fajita Recipe…

• Chicken breasts (I’m using 6 today but the recipe is for 3 breast and feeds four)
• 3-4 bell peppers (I use various colors one of each)
• 1-2 onions (depending on sizes)
• fajita seasoning packet

1. Slice all the vegatables and place them on bottom of crock pot
2. Add chicken breast on top of veggies
3. dump seasoning packet over the chicken
4. cook for 6-8 hours
5. once cook time is up check temp of chicken make sure its at 165 f if it’s not then put crock pot on high and recheck temp in 15 minutes
6. once chicken is at temp… shred with 2 forks and mix it all up serve on tortillas

super yummy I’m doubling the batch so that I can freeze half of it for a meal after baby comes…

30 and 31 week update

I’m so tired today! The kiddos had some friends over today so now I have been cleaning up as we go and getting everything back to normal! I have a bunch of stuff I need to do but all I really want to do is take a nap! On the plus side hubby gets to come home early from work today which is always exciting to me 🙂 I just wanna snuggle up and watch a movie 🙂 we will probably have a bunch of stuff to do! Somewhere along the way we need to finish the nursery! But since we have everything pretty much done I don’t feel as rushed to get it all finished we still have 8 weeks or so until little man makes his entrance to the world so that is plenty of time to get the few small things completed!

So many things so little posts…

This last week things were super busy so much so that I’m going to break this post down into sections…

30 week update: 

Pregnancy nothing new to really update I had my 30 week growth scan and that was my last post… on Monday I saw my midwife and got checked for a yeast infection but luckily I had none… everything else looked wonderfully normal so we are now doing our appointments every 2 weeks which feels like a huge mile stone to me… it signifies that we are getting closer to meeting little man which is super exciting!!! I can’t wait to meet this little boy! I am 31 weeks along so he needs to bake a while longer but I’m still excited to see him!

Baby shower: 

We had our baby shower on Saturday and it was amazing! We had a co-ed baby shower… about 20 people showed up only 4 were guys lol but it was still fun we had drinks for those who could drink and we had a ton of food! I was so busy I didn’t get any video or pictures but it was fun… we played games that weren’t super girly and were silly… like baby bottle chugging where each person tried to chug their little bottle of whatever liquid they wanted… then we played a rapid fire game where all the guys held baskets and everyone else threw as many diapers as quick as they could at the guys as they tried to catch as many as they could…it was hilarious but the funniest game was the insemination game… this is where everyone partnered up and tried to get a long roll of paper into a paper towel tube without using hands the rolls were held up between our legs this was in light of us having to do IVF it was funny I laughed so hard I almost peed myself… I enjoyed so much food it was a blast I really loved it! Red had a blast too so that was a win I didn’t want him to feel like it was a super girly event that he was stuck at…

School: 

My semester is about to start and so is the kids so we have been busy figuring out what we will need and getting everything ready… tomorrow we will be running errands all day including multiple trips to their schools to get it all done… after the 22nd I will be at my school and running errands getting things ready for my class… So much to do and a little over a week to do it all

Projects: 

I’m still getting my house back in order after the baby shower…

I went through all of the stuff we have for baby and got it organized I left most the stuff in the packages so that things like the bedding wont get dusty since we still have around 2 months to go but it was nice to take inventory and realize that we are almost done preparing for baby boy…

I made the last of the decorations for his nursery and it just needs to get hung up now which will be Reds job but I’m happy that his nursery is almost completely done… just a little rearranging needed for the changing table to go where we want and the decorations so it is almost completely done which is fricken awesome! I really wanted to have it all done by the time my school semester started and it looks like it will be done!

I’m working on opening my own Etsy shop so I have been doing some work on that and building up a bit of inventory for that… I also have 2 more products I’m going to be adding soon! Starting next week I will start prepping food to put in the freezer for those first few week after baby gets here! So this week has been super busy!

30 week growth scan

30 week growth scan went awesome hubby was even able to be there!!! I met my new high risk dr. He was nice no complaints but I like my midwife more! They took me off of my lovenox shots so no more belly shots for me I’m so happy about this in the last year and half I have given myself over 400 shots!!! so it’s really nice not have to do that any more! I am a tad bit nervous for my baby boy but the dr. is now going to have me on a baby asprin instead so I’m not going cold turkey on blood clot meds but it’s nice to be able to not have to stab myself anymore!

I have gained 6lbs in the last 3 weeks! So much weight and I still have another 9 weeks or so to go so I’m a trying not to worry about that number as much! Little boy is 3lbs and 8oz and dr. said he could put on a half pound a week! that means he could easily be an 8 1/2 lb baby! We are 30 weeks and 4 days but he is measuring 31 weeks and 1 day…

He was being stubborn and had his hands and feet in front of his face most of the time! They spent a ton of time looking at his heart but said everything looks great! I go back to the high risk dr. in 4 weeks for a final growth scan! I can’t believe it

They said that the white fuzzy around his skull is hair! How crazy is that! They can already tell he has hair!

The black in his mouth was him making the sucking motion it was super cute!!!

This pic shows his hands infront of his face…the tech said his feet were there too but I can’t tell but you can see his cute nose and little lips and pointy chin!

such a cuter little foot! He has filled out so much since the last time we saw him!!!

 

Becoming a mom…

Many times I am in awe still! I can’t believe we are pregnant and on the road to meeting our little man! I have dreamed about this for years! I have cried many times over the fear that I would never have a child! Whenever I feel this little one move (even sometimes when it hurts) I smile and rub my belly and talk to him! I am in awe every day over this strong little one growing inside of me!!! I can’t believe that we are 30 weeks! I’ve been told a lot recently that I am going to love being a mom and things like becoming a mom suits you…

I disagree I have felt like a mom for a very long time! I have 2 amazing sons that I have chosen to be their mom… I don’t often refer to them as my stepsons because I feel more like an adoptive mom…Stepmom tends to put the idea in peoples heads that I chose their father and by marriage alone I have become a parent… On the other hand parents who adopt don’t go around saying this is my adoptive son they just say this is my son (or daughter no difference I just happen to have 2 sons and no daughters) society tends to view adoptive parents as parents who have chosen to love this child and parent this child despite a biological connection… I tell people I have 2 sons and they look at the oldest in confusion because he is 17… I know that realistically I could not be his biological mother due to age factor and me and my husband do have an age gap but I have known him since he was 5 and me and husband got together when he was around 10! I have loved him since he was 5 and have helped raised him and his brother before I realized that I loved my best friend (his father) more than just a best friend…

I have not legally adopted the boys but I have chosen to be their mom and I love them as if they came from me… I do not see my smile or my eyes when I look at them but I do see my sense of humor and imagination… I see my desire for adventure and love of the outdoors in both of them… so even though they will never have my physical traits they have pieces of me that reflect my influences on their lives and I know that forever and always they carry pieces of me as much as I carry pieces of them! I love my sons so much and I am so proud of the young men they are becoming!  I am so excited to give them a baby brother and to share this journey with them… I do not feel like I am just becoming a mom I feel like I am finally completing our family and adding the one thing that has been missing from our family! I love my baby already so very much but he is not my first son he is my third son and most likely last son who will be loved by me, his father, and his brothers…

29 week bumpdate with nursery update…

Okay so I’m late on this again! I started it the other day and got sidetracked so this might be lengthier than my normal weekly pregnancy update…

How Far along: 29 weeks and 6 days…

Total Weight Gain: Not sure I stopped paying attention somewhere past 25lbs gained as long as my dr. says I’m healthy I’m not gonna stress it…

Maternity Clothes: Yes for sure and even some of those don’t fit any more I have 2 pairs of capris that don’t fit and a few shirts that are no longer covering my belly completely so they have become cleaning/lazy day shirts!

Movement: A ton of movement… little man sure likes to make my stomach do the waves I keep trying to get them on video but I swear he knows when I have the camera out!!!

Stretch marks: Yes I have a few on the bottom side of my boobs but they have gotten much larger than they were to start like over double size but I have bought a few maternity bras and they are so much more comfortable to wear!

Sleep: Still sucks! But I am getting better at this napping thing I took a 30-hour nap today 30 minutes I was out and the other 30 I was just dozing but it felt amazing!!! so I’m going to try to do that every day and hopefully I won’t feel so drained each day! My hips and back hurt like crazy and it is worst at night when I’m laying down on my sides for more than 30 minutes…

Best moments: Little man got the hiccups and hubby put his hand on my belly and told the little one how sorry he was bout his hiccups because Red hates getting the hiccups… Getting work done on the nursery!!! I feel like this week I got a ton done on the nursery not all at once and I didn’t over work myself I just did a little every day and got a lot done! I decorated a wall..

and got the baby dresser refinished!

Miss Anything and food cravings: I combined this question because they are the same answer I miss beer and deli sandwiches!!!

Anything make you feel queasy or sick: Raw meet and the smell of urine (like in a public bathroom)

Gender: Boy

Labor signs: Not yet thank god! I still have at least 8-10 weeks to go!

Symptoms:  sore hips and back, indigestion, itchy belly and boobs, and it’s getting hard to reach the ground when I drop things lol

Belly Button: in but getting wider and flatter lol as you can see in the forward facing pic!

Wedding Rings: off but I have another beautiful ring that Red got me for my birthday I used to wear it on my right middle finger but now it fits my ring finger…

Mood: Happy most the time… my patience is shorter though

Looking forward to: Having the nursery done and meeting my son!!! Oh and next week I am having a baby sprinkle with my friends in town since I already had a baby shower with my sisters up north back in June so this one is for my friends where I live and we are only asking for diapers because we pretty much have everything we need…

Fall semester…

So I might be a tad bit crazy and I can admit that sometimes I tend to be a tad bit of an over achiever and this can be good and bad… This time it’s about school… so I am taking one class this semester it is an online class so I will be able to do it at home and hopefully I can get it done a bit early I will be speaking to my professor as soon as my classes start… The class will end right around my due date and then I will be on maternity leave until Mid-January!

I might be crazy to be taking a class this semester and hopefully it’s not to hard of a class but I feel like I need to do something so that I don’t get out of the groove of things! I know things are going to change drastically when little man gets here… but I also know that I will feel guilty if I don’t do something this semester! I am trying to get my degree in a descent amount of time! I was nervous to go back to college that  I started out slowly so now if I don’t stay on top of things it will take me 6 years to complete a 4 yr degree! I am only like 13 or 15 credits away from having my associates so I want to take one class this semester and then spring semester I will only need to take like 9 or 11 credits which will be a little easier while trying to juggle being a new mom!

I really hope that I can handle this semester while being pregnant! I wish that the class started a little sooner so that it wouldn’t end so close to my due date but I have no control of that! So instead as soon as the class starts I’m going to ask my professor if there is any way to get ahead of the schedule or if I can have an extension on time if I go into labor sooner than expected! Am I crazy for trying to do a class this semester? Possibly but I feel like I need to do something this semester so that I stay moving forward with my degree! Then I’ll be able to start working by like May which would make a big difference for us! I also have a goal to get my the next part of my degree done in 2 years since it is going to take me 3 years to get the first part of my degree done which should have only taken me 2 years but like I said I started out slowly! At the time I went back to school I was working full time and ttc and get IVF started… once we started injections for retrieval I quit my job and went full time in school… Last semester I was full time student and I was doing FET and pregnant for the whole semester so I think being 3rd trimester pregnant and doing one small class should be doable…

Okay well thank you for handling my crazy babble of talking myself into not feeling overwhelmed by this semester lol
